Cavalli College’s qualifications are approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), the New Zealand government body that ensures New Zealand qualifications are seen as credible and robust globally and nationally.

International learner study programmes
Cavalli College currently offers four programmes for international learners, two in Early Childhood Teaching and two in Health and Wellbeing. Early Childhood Teaching
New Zealand Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 6)

Learner support
As a Cavalli College learner, you will have access to personal guidance to assist with your decision making on programme selection. You will be welcomed to the college and inducted through the Learning with Cavalli College course, which will introduce you to the learning environment, resources and support available to you throughout your studies.
Orientation
Cavalli College provides an orientation for international learners to assist you to integrate into New Zealand culture and society, as well as your studies with Cavalli College. During orientation, you will learn about studying in New Zealand, safety and wellbeing, public transport, setting up a bank account, learner expectations and more, so you can feel confident and well equipped for your learning journey in New Zealand.
International Team
At Cavalli College, our dedicated International Team is here to support you throughout your journey as an international learner. From your initial inquiry to the moment you complete your studies, our team is available to assist with any queries related to your enrolment, support at Cavalli College, or adapting to life in New Zealand. Whether you need advice on how to navigate accommodation, or access cultural activities, our International Team is committed to ensuring you feel supported every step of the way.
Pastoral care
Cavalli College is committed to your wellbeing, both inside and outside the classroom. Our pastoral care services provide a safe and supportive environment where you can seek help with personal issues, mental health, or adjusting to life in New Zealand. You will have access to one-on-one guidance and can speak with our dedicated Pastoral Care Team about any challenges you may face during your studies. Whether it’s about stress, homesickness, or balancing life and study, our team is here to listen and offer practical support or referrals to external services if needed.
We are guided by the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 to ensure your safety and wellbeing throughout your time with us.
Academic support
Your academic success is important to us, and we offer comprehensive academic support to help you thrive in your studies. If you need assistance with understanding course material, completing assignments, or developing study strategies, our experienced lecturers are available to offer guidance. Cavalli College is committed to helping you achieve your learning goals.
IT support
To help you stay connected and make the most of your online learning experience, Cavalli College offers a reliable IT support service. If you encounter any technical issues, whether it’s accessing course materials, navigating the learning management system, or troubleshooting computer problems, our IT Support Team is here to assist you. We ensure that you have access to the tools and resources you need to succeed in your studies, and the team is available to resolve any problems promptly.
Ongoing cultural support
Our friendly Support Team will be in regular contact with you throughout your study to ensure you are adjusting well to life in New Zealand. They can answer any questions you may have and refer you to external support services if required.
Emergency phone
Cavalli College has an emergency phone available 24/7 for international learner emergencies, with a support person available at all times. This number should only be called where there is a significant threat to your health and safety, or a serious concern for your immediate welfare. All other issues and any queries relating to your study should be directed through the normal channels during working hours.
Insurance
Cavalli College can support you in arranging code appropriate medical and travel insurance. If you have insurance or wish to choose alternative insurance, the alternate policy will need to be assessed by Cavalli College to ensure it meets the insurance standards of the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021. Learner expectations
Cavalli College expects you to display integrity and behave honestly in all interactions with Cavalli College and related organisations inclusive of admission, enrolment, and study, including work experience.
Learner misconduct ranges from plagiarism and cheating to not meeting professional standards. If there is an alleged incident, you will be given the opportunity to address the issue. If the allegation is found to have merit, penalties range from written warnings, a fail on an assignment to withdrawal from the academy.
Learner policies
Cavalli College maintains an international learner policy to ensure best practice for the protection of and positive experience for Cavalli College international learners on behalf of the key industry sectors of Early Childhood Education and Health and Wellbeing, and the country of New Zealand.
Cavalli College applies the principles of The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 (the Code) and quality assurance practices as outlined by NZQA in all aspects of its interactions with international learners. We ensure all staff have awareness of The Code and ensure compliance with The Code in all their interactions with international learners.

Complaints
Cavalli College has a fair, culturally responsive, and transparent process for addressing complaints. Learners are made aware of this process at enrolment, and it is designed to ensure any concerns raised with Cavalli College are acknowledged, investigated, and responded to.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of our complaints process, you may be able to raise your concerns externally. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority’s website provides useful information about the avenues available to you.
You may also be able to take your complaint to Study Complaints – a dispute resolution provider specialising in supporting domestic tertiary and international students in resolving disputes with their provider. This is a free service for students. If you are not a student but wish to raise a complaint with Cavalli College, please email the details to support@cavallicollege.nz.

Discrimination and harassment
Cavalli College learners have the right to operate in a safe environment free from harassment and discrimination. Cavalli College takes all reasonable steps practicable to prevent harassment and discrimination and to act promptly and fairly on any complaints received. The Board of Directors should be informed of any questions regarding harassment, the filing of a harassment complaint, or reporting a case of domestic violence. Reach out to the General Manager at generalmanager@cavallicollege.nz, who will provide guidance and ensure the complaint or case is addressed promptly, consistently and fairly.

Learner withdrawal and refund
You may request a refund of tuition fees prior to or at any time during your enrolment according to Cavalli College’s Withdrawal and Refund Policy.
You may apply for a refund on compassionate grounds after the refund period stipulated by NZQA pursuant to the Education and Training Act (2020). In these cases, you must submit full documentation in writing to Cavalli College. Compassionate grounds are solely at the discretion of Cavalli College.
Cavalli College reserves the right to withdraw a learner from study for unsatisfactory academic progress.

Learner fee indemnification
Learner fees are protected through Public Trust in a standard trust. Fees deposited and protected by the Public Trust are held in the Common fund which has an unsecured guarantee from the New Zealand Government. The learner fee protection for Cavalli College is fully compliant with NZQA rules. Should access to your fees be necessary, you may contact Public Trust on 0800 494 733 or email feeprotect@publictrust.co.nz. This arrangement has been accepted by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as meeting the requirements of the Education and Training Act 2020 and the Student Fee Protection Rules 2021.

Learner wellbeing
Cavalli College is here to support your wellbeing through your learning journey. Wellbeing is a personal journey for each learner at Cavalli College, commencing with initial contact through to study decisions, orientation, accommodation, cultural support and emergency situations.
The Cavalli College values of Relationships, Learning and Wellbeing underpin how the college supports domestic and international learners to achieve their aspirations.
