Who We Are
Who is Cavalli College?
Cavalli College invokes conversation about the gathering of and sharing of knowledge that is centred on the person. It could be seen as a spring of knowledge that keeps renewing and overflowing thus enabling or spreading out into the various forums that we as contributors participate in and draw from, therefore, allowing us to make meaningful contributions into the future.
Cavalli College is a NZQA Category 1 status registered PTE, initially founded in 2022 as Arise Academy. Jagriti Foundation originally established the college as a charitable entity to deliver connected pathways of NZQA approved programmes for Health and Wellbeing, Mental Health and Addiction, Peer Support and Early Childhood Teacher Education.
In early 2025 the College, under new ownership, rebranded with the new name Cavalli College, that grounds us in New Zealand, and has expanded to be able to grow programmes of study to meet critical sector needs.
The name is inspired by the Cavalli Islands, group of islands on Northland’s East Coast of New Zealand and its significance to New Zealand – a place of discovery, strength and stability, the security of the environment with its Marine reserve that speaks to us as “pearls of wisdom” we will discover in ourselves and our learners throughout their learning journeys.
Whāia te pae tawhiti, kia kite i ngā motu.
Pursue the distant horizon, to see the islands.
This whakatauki speaks to the meeting point of land and sea, symbolising the harmony between past, present and the future. Just as the islands stand strong in the vast ocean, Cavalli College is a place where learners can grow, discover their potential and navigate their path forward in safe waters.
From its first days founded by Jagriti Foundation to develop programmes of study that support our community need for qualified mental health and addiction and peer support workers, Cavalli College continues today with a core commitment to deep engagement with the communities we serve.
Linking directly to community needs of supporting health, wellness, mental health and addiction support, foundational programmes, inter-connected pathways to learning, education and caring for children and enabling graduate outcomes that link directly to real life growth and success, is the space where Cavalli College steps in and continues to make a difference.
