This is not business as usual. This is a response to a growing call across New Zealand for Early Childhood teachers who are inspired, knowledgeable, teaching-ready, culturally responsive, and equipped to meet the evolving needs of children, families and communities.

Both programmes meet the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand requirements and new 2026 Standards for the Teaching Profession to become a teacher.

ECE Community Partnership

These new programmes have been shaped through extensive collaboration with the Early Childhood Education sector across New Zealand. Educators, registered teachers, centre leaders, and industry stakeholders have contributed to the design of two new innovative degree programmes that reflect the needs of the ECE workforce in New Zealand.

This collaborative approach strengthens teacher preparation and student support, setting a new benchmark for quality in Early Childhood Teacher Education.
