Education Agents

Cavalli College welcomes enquiries from education agents looking to present the opportunities of studying at Cavalli College to international learners.

The international learner is responsible for meeting all conditions relating to their visa. If the international learner changes visa during their study they must inform Cavalli College and ensure that the visa is still valid for study.

Cavalli College accepts no responsibility for the visas of partners/spouses or dependent children.

The international learner is responsible for ensuring Cavalli College receives a certified copy or sights the original, and makes a copy of their visa and any condition contained within that visa prior to their start date. E-visas can be provided if forwarded directly from Immigration New Zealand.

Education agent policy and procedure

Cavalli College is committed to managing and monitoring the agents who act on its behalf to recruit international learners.

Cavalli College actively manages all steps outlined in the following education agent procedure.

  • Selection. Cavalli College enters into an agreement with an education agent because the agent has a learner selected for an Cavalli College programme, is in a key market for Cavalli College programmes and/or has been recommended to Cavalli College.
  • Appointment. The criteria Cavalli College uses are a history of successful operation, a strong reference from a New Zealand Category 1 provider or university, has standard protocols for recruiting learners, good knowledge of New Zealand’s education environment, satisfactory Immigration New Zealand approval rates and good counsellors.
  • Contract. If the agent meets the criteria, then Cavalli College will sign a one-year contract with the agent. Commission will only be paid if the contract is current.
  • Training and support. Once an agent has been contracted, initial training will be undertaken. The training is done with key counsellors. Training is then done again on a regular basis, at least twice a year or when new counsellors are hired by the agent. Cavalli College provides direct support when the agent recruits a learner.
  • Review. Every agent will be reviewed annually before the next contract is signed. The criteria are the number of learners who the agent has enrolled, any complaints, professional behaviour, being a liquid company and not having had its status as a New Zealand Recognised Agent removed.
  • Change. Learners sometimes change agents in the application and enrolment procedures or for their second enrolment. Cavalli College has a commitment to its agents and protects agents from learner behaviour. Cavalli College must approve the change in agent which will involve contacting the first agent.
  • Investigation. If an agent has had a complaint raised against them, Cavalli College will suspend all applications or enrolments of the agent. Cavalli College will then contact all relevant stakeholders including the previous agent and the learner. Cavalli College will then decide whether a penalty is to be applied, and the type of penalty based on the severity of the breach.
  • Termination. Cavalli College will deactivate an agent if they do not send at least one learner in a year and have no enrolled learners. Cavalli College may terminate an agent contract if the agent has breached the contract, or if a Licensed Immigration Advisor, they have had their license cancelled.
