This programme enables learners with lived experience in mental health and addiction, disability or chronic health conditions to support and empower others with similar lived experience in their recovery journey.

What you will learn:

Through Cavalli College’s blended study modes of learning, including online access, face-to-face and practice-based classroom teaching experiences, along with our unique student support, you will:

  • Build authentic, culturally connected peer relationships with clients and whānau

Academic entry

Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old to commence the programme.

Applicants must provide evidence of lived experience such as mental health, addiction, disability or a significant health condition and aspire to support others with similar experience.

English language entry

All international applicants and domestic applicants for whom English is an additional language and te reo Māori is not the first language evidence of meeting English language requirements according to Rule 22 of the NZQA Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2025 for a level 4 programme.

Fees Free

If you are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident living in Rodney, Waitakere, or North Shore regions, and new to tertiary study in 2025, you may be eligible for Fees Free, covering up to $12,000 of your study costs.

The New Zealand Government will cover tuition costs for the final year of a qualification, including one-year qualifications, provided the qualification meets the Government’s eligibility criteria.
